Renaming Inventor drawings sheets with Snappy Sheet Renamer is like a walk in the park. You need to have a drawing file open. A message will appear when there is no drawing file open. When you click on the ‘OK’ button your Project Folder will appear. From there you can select a drawing file to start with. The drawing file will be opened in Autodesk Inventor. If you already have a drawing file open you can start immediately.
Filling out a drawing number prefix, select a numbering system and Revision (Optional).
All the sheets will be renamed when clicking the button 'Rename Sheets'.
(Optional) When you use a (Custom) iProperty for drawing numbers, Snappy Sheet Renamer has the option to fill that iProperty out for Parts, Assemblies, Weldments and Presentation files. Quicker than this can't be done.
Select an iProperty from the dropdown list or fill out a Custom iProperty and click the button 'Sheet Name to iProperty'.
(Note the Drawing Numbers in the Bill of Material in the next picture)
All Parts, Assemblies, Weldments and Presentation files that have the selected (Custom) iProperty have now been updated with the drawing number of the sheet where the item is found on.
All the sheets will be renamed when clicking the button 'Rename Sheets'.
Renaming Drawings Sheets using an iProperty
All the sheets can also be renamed with the value of an iProperty. Simply select an iProperty from the dropdown list and click the button 'iProperty to Sheet Name'.
This option is only recommend for sheets with only 1 item per sheet.
It can't be done easier.
